Amitabh Bachchan has been winning hearts for decades, and even at 82, the superstar shows no signs of slowing down. He recently made a comeback with the 17th season of his iconic TV show Kaun Banega Crorepati, proving fans why he’s still the “Big B” of Bollywood. But behind the paps and spotlight, Bachchan admits that age is slowly catching up with him. In a recent blog post, he revealed that everyday tasks, which once seemed effortless, now need extra focus and care.

The actor wrote that simple actions like putting on trousers have become difficult. Doctors have even advised him to sit while wearing them to avoid the risk of falling. To help him move around safely, handlebars have now been installed across his residence, Jalsa.

Still surprised by fan love

Sharing his thoughts after greeting fans outside his home, a Sunday ritual he has followed for years, Bachchan admitted that it sometimes feels surreal. “As I climb the steps to face them, the reassurance grips my body and the reactions all come with the provocation of the cheers from all to steady my nerves. Then the love and admiration take over,” he wrote.

He also confessed that he notices when familiar faces are missing from the crowd and wonders, “Am I too common and unwanted? Are they fed up with this 5-10 minute appearance for those who have gathered from the afternoon to get vantage positions? Why and what?”

Now Amitabh Bachchan’s life revolves around medicines and exercises

Talking about his daily routine, Bachchan said it now revolves around medicines and mobility exercises. While he tries to stay disciplined, missing just a day makes the aches and stiffness worse. “Some routines that were there earlier seem to suggest that because it was done some years ago, it shall be a cake walk to initiate them again. Nah, no baby! Just one day’s absence and the pains and the mobility go for a very long walk,” he quipped.

‘Picking up a piece of paper from the floor feels like a challenge’

Bachchan also reflected on the reality of ageing, saying that even picking up a piece of paper from the floor feels like a challenge. He admitted, “The rapidity of its performance has slowed down with uncertainty.”

In a touching note to his fans, he expressed that he wishes no one has to go through such a phase of life, but accepted that ageing is inevitable. “The down trend begins at birth. Sad, but that’s the reality of life. Youth races through life’s challenges with aplomb. Age suddenly speed brakes your vehicle and tells you, ‘Apply the brakes to avoid the accelerated bump when you drive the vehicle of life,’” he wrote.

Amitabh Bachchan’s secrets to living a healthy life

Amitabh Bachchan is not only a legendary actor but also an inspiration when it comes to health and discipline. Despite facing serious health issues in the past, including tuberculosis, the 81-year-old continues to lead an active lifestyle.

Amitabh Bachchan starts his day with breathing and yoga

Big B believes in starting his mornings on a calm note. His wellness coach Vrindaa Mehta once revealed that he begins his day with breathing exercises (pranayama) and light yoga stretches. These simple practices help him stay relaxed, focused, and flexible.

Fitness trainer Shivohaam, who works with Bachchan, says the actor never misses his exercise routine. No matter how packed his day is, he always finds time, be it morning, afternoon, or even between shoots, to stay active.

Amitabh Bachchan’s approach towards healthy eating

Bachchan is equally strict about his diet. In one of his earlier blog posts, he shared that he starts his day by chewing a few tulsi (holy basil) leaves, known to boost immunity. His breakfast often includes protein shakes, almonds, porridge, or coconut water.

He also includes  natural health boosters like amla (gooseberry) juice and dates in his diet, which are rich in antioxidants and nutrients.

Over the years, the superstar has made big changes to his eating habits. He has completely given up non-vegetarian food, sugar, and rice to stay healthy and fit.
