War 2 Box Office Collection Day 7: Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR’s much-anticipated spy thriller War 2 has wrapped up its first week at the box office with collections just nearing the Rs 200 crore mark in India. The film, which clashed with Rajinikanth’s Coolie, managed to draw audiences in its opening days but is now facing a slowdown.

According to early estimates by industry tracker Sacnilk, War 2 earned around Rs 5.5 crore (India net) on Wednesday, August 20, bringing its total domestic collection to Rs 199 crore in seven days. While this is an impressive first-week total, the mid-week dip signals that the film is beginning to lose momentum.

War 2 city-wise performance

The Hrithik-Kiara starrer occupancy gained traction across regions. Chennai led with an average occupancy of 20 per cent, boosted by evening shows that touched 26 per cent. Bengaluru (15.67 per cent) and Jaipur (15.33 per cent) also performed reasonably well, with steady afternoon and evening turnout. Kolkata saw 13 per cent occupancy overall, also showing a spike during the evening.

On the other hand, metro cities like Mumbai (9.67 per cent), Delhi-NCR (9 per cent), and Pune (9 per cent) recorded modest numbers throughout the day. Hyderabad and Lucknow stayed near 11 per cent, while Surat (3 per cent), Chandigarh (6 per cent), and Bhopal (6.33 per cent) delivered lower-than-average figures.

In terms of North and South India, War 2 performed better in the South. The Tamil version reported 16.74 per cent occupancy, while the Telugu version managed 15.19 per cent. These regional markets are helping the film maintain a steady contribution, even as the Hindi version shows signs of slowing down.

War 2 1st week box office collection

Despite its Day 7 dip, War 2 had a solid first six days at the box office. The film opened strongly, riding on Hrithik Roshan’s star power and Jr NTR’s massive fan following in the South. The combination of high-octane action, stylish production, and Ayan Mukerji’s sleek direction gave the film an edge during its opening weekend.

War 2 star cast

The film stars Hrithik Roshan returning to his role as Kabir, with Jr NTR playing the antagonist. Kiara Advani, Ashutosh Rana, and Anil Kapoor complete the cast. Fans have praised its scale, action sequences, and visual appeal, although weekday footfalls indicate the film may face tougher competition in the coming weeks.

At the end of Week 1, War 2 stands at Rs 199 crore domestically. The big question now is whether it can pick up pace over the weekend and enter the Rs 250 crore club, or continue to be overshadowed by Coolie’s record-breaking run.
