Veteran Tamil actor Delhi Ganesh has passed away at the age of 80, following health complications related to old age. According to a report by Tamil Samayam, he passed away at 11:30 pm last night. The actor’s last rites are scheduled to be held on Sunday (November 10).

Confirming the news of the actor’s death, his son wrote, “We deeply regret to inform that our father Dr Delhi Ganesh has passed away on 9th November 2024 at around 11 pm (sic).”

Over his career, Delhi Ganesh appeared in more than 400 films across Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam cinema. Some of his most notable works include Nayakan, Michael Madhana Kama Rajan, Sindhu Bhairavi, Iruvar, and many more.

Delhi Ganesh, born on August 1, 1944, was a celebrated Tamil actor who made his cinematic debut in 1976 with the iconic K. Balachander film Pattina Pravesam. Over the course of his career, he appeared in over 400 films across Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam cinema.

Before becoming an actor, Delhi Ganesh served in the Indian Air Force for a decade (1964-1974). He is best known for his memorable roles in films such as Nayakan (1987) and Michael Madhana Kama Rajan (1990), where his performances left a lasting impact on audiences.

Other notable films in his career include Apoorva Sagodharargal (1989), Aahaa..! (1997), Thenali (2000), and Engamma Maharani (1981).

Delhi Ganesh received several accolades for his acting, including the Tamil Nadu State Film Award Special Prize for his role in Pasi (1979) and the prestigious Kalaimamani Award in 1994.
