OG Box Office Collection Day 7: The Pawan Kalyan starrer was released on Thursday, September 25. Beating all records, it started off strong with a Rs 90 crore opening day, including more than Rs 20 crore in advance collections. However, ‘They Call Him OG’ failed to draw audience to the theatres on weekends.
This Sujeeth-directorial was dominated by the intense fan following of Pawan Kumar. Playing the gangster, Ojas ‘OG’ Gambheera, fans have called the OG movie his ultimate revenge arc. Bollywood romance hero Emraan Hashmi turns villainous as he masterfully plays the role of the antagonist in ‘They Call Him OG’. Praised for its background score and feminist themes, fans laud the performances from Priyanka Arul Mohan and Sriya Reddy. ‘They Call Him OG‘ also stars Prakash Raj and Arjun Das in key roles.
After collecting Rs 252 crore worldwide, the domestic collections appeared a little weak following the first weekend. Pawan Kalyan’s OG maintained the streak of collecting more than Rs 18 crore on the weekend, grossing nearly Rs 40 crore by its first Sunday. However, with slowed weekdays, Pawan Kalyan’s OG sales hovered just above the Rs 7 crore mark, showing a 60% dip as it entered Monday. On Day 7, Thursday, ‘They Call Him OG’ grossed Rs 7 crore, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. The overall opening-weekend box office collection for the film has reached Rs 161.85 crore. However, as the Dussehra weekend commences, the makers are hopeful for a turnaround in sales.
Upcoming films like Rishab Shetty’s Kantara: Chapter 1 and Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor’s Sunny Sanskari ki Tulsi Kumari, which released today, are set to give stiff competition to Pawan Kalyan’s OG. With a split in box office, fans are confused which movie to pick for their Dussehra 2025 long weekend watch.
