The Great Indian Kapil Show has made a successful comeback on the OTT platform Netflix. Airing for nearly a decade, this family format talk show has been entertaining millions of people globally. Amid its plethora of cosplay acts, has been that of Kiku Sharda, one of the longest serving cast members to share the screen with the host, Kapil Sharma.
However, rumours set afloat after popular paparazzo Viral Bhayani’s official Instagram page shared that Sharda had decided to quit the show. It reportedly came after an alleged argument with Krushna Abhishek, another crew member, weeks ago. The actors were seen in a video, which one hit social media, went viral.
Is Kiku Sharda leaving?
Based on the paparazzi account, the video was captioned, “The last few days, there has been ‘visible unrest’ in the Kapil Sharma camp.” This came after the viral video showed both Sharda and Abhishek in a heated argument on the sets of the popular Netflix show.
While it did not end with rumours of Sharda quitting the show, the social media post claimed that he had signed up for another reality series. Kiku Sharda will reportedly appear in ‘Rise & Fall’ on Amazon MX Player, giving direct competition to Netflix’s Great Indian Kapil Sharma Show’s viewership. The new show is set to be hosted by Ashneer Grover, entrepreneur and former managing director of BharatPe, and was last seen on reality TV show Shark Tank India.
Archana Puran Singh reacts
An integral part of the OTT show, Archana Puran Singh, took over after the departure of Navjot Singh Sidhu. Reacting to Kiku Sharda’s rumoured departure, Singh told Indian Express that he is still with the team. She commented that the rumours were, “absolutely not true.”
The Express report also revealed that Kiku Sharda is set to make his appearance in upcoming episodes and has wrapped up the shooting. While not disclosing the name of Sharda’s upcoming show, the report revealed, “He has wrapped up shooting for the show before starting his next project. Kiku is very much a part of The Great Indian Kapil Show.”
