Deepika Padukone announced the re-release of Piku on Saturday by sharing a video on her Instagram. Piku, a wholesome tale of a father and daughter, directed by Soojit Sircar, is returning to the theaters on its 10th anniversary. The film will entertain people again in cinema halls from May 9, 2025. It originally premiered in 2015.
Deepika Padukone posted a montage video of the movie on her Instagram, announcing the release date. The clip shows Amitabh Bachchan greeting viewers with a Namaskar, narrating the plot of the film “Piku… Yaad hain na?”
Amitabh Bachchan narrates in the video, “Nomoshkar (Hello). Piku, remember? Piku, Bhaskar Da, they went on a road trip. Don’t remember? Watch this. It was an amazing road trip. It was unpredictable and unforgettable.”
“There were feelings, emotions, tensions, and laughter too. Piku is being re-released at your nearest theaters. Do watch, won’t you?” he added.

Along with her video, Deepika wrote a note remembering the late Irrfan Khan. “A film that will always have my heart—PIKU is back in theaters on 9th May, 2025, to celebrate its 10th Anniversary! Irrfan, we miss you! And think about you every so often…”
