Coolie Box Office Collection Day 17: Rajinikanth-starrer set to enter Rs 300 crore milestone soon!

Coolie Box Office Collection Day 17: Thalaivar Rajinikanth’s latest film Coolie may have slowed down at the box office, but it is far from being out of the race. The action-packed entertainer, which faced a dip earlier this week, has picked up again due to the festive boost from Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations. Entering its third week, Coolie is showing resilience as it inches forward in numbers.
According to early estimates from industry tracker Sacnilk, Coolie collected around Rs 2.65 crore on Day 17 (3rd Saturday). This marks a healthy jump from its Day 16 earnings of Rs 1.7 crore, showing a revival in audience turnout.
Breaking down Friday’s performance, the film earned Rs 1.13 crore from Tamil shows, Rs 0.2 crore from Hindi, Rs 0.35 crore from Telugu, and Rs 0.02 crore from Kannada. Saturday saw better momentum across key territories, helping Coolie cross the Rs 275 crore mark domestically, with its total standing at Rs 275.85 crore net in India.
Released on August 14, Coolie hit theatres in Tamil along with dubbed versions in Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada.
Tamil market leads with strong occupancy
Tamil Nadu continues to be the biggest driver for the Rajinikanth starrer. On Day 17, the film recorded an overall 23.68 per cent occupancy in Tamil (2D) shows.
The film’s momentum built steadily through the day. From 14.20 per cent in the morning shows to 23.60 per cent in the afternoon, 25.76 per cent in the evening, and peaking at 31.17 per cent during night shows.
Among cities, Chennai led with the highest screenings, 373 shows with 28.75 per cent occupancy. Coimbatore contributed 141 shows at 18 per cent occupancy, while Bengaluru recorded 130 shows at 15.75 per cent. Further, Pondicherry outperformed with an impressive 33.75 per cent occupancy across 27 shows, while Trichy maintained 24.25 per cent over 44 shows.
The Hindi dubbed version, titled Coolie: The Powerhouse, has seen a significant reduction in screenings and currently plays in under 100 shows across regions. On Saturday, it recorded an overall 14.31 per cent occupancy.
The film started the day slow at 6.18 per cent in morning shows, improved to 13.09 per cent in the afternoon, stayed stable at 13.53 per cent in the evening, and peaked at 24.42 per cent during the night shows.
The NCR region led with 82 shows and 12.75 per cent occupancy, followed by Mumbai with 70 shows and 7.75 per cent occupancy. Smaller markets like Pune, Ahmedabad, and Surat showed decent numbers. Surprisingly, Bengaluru saw the highest traction with 31 per cent occupancy from just 11 shows, while Jaipur stood out at 44.75 per cent occupancy across 20 shows.
Telugu version holds steady
The Telugu version maintained decent numbers with an overall 16.83 per cent occupancy on Day 17. Morning shows began at 15.57 per cent, climbed to 16.23 per cent in the afternoon, then 16.43 per cent in the evening, and closed with 19.10 per cent occupancy at night shows.
Hyderabad led the Telugu market with 159 shows, recording 16 per cent overall occupancy.
Coolie’s box office collection so far
With strong support from festive audiences, Coolie is holding its ground even in its third week. Though collections are slowing down compared to its opening run, the Rajinikanth starrer has comfortably crossed the Rs 275 crore milestone in India, and is now eyeing higher numbers in the coming days.
