Infinity Learn, a hybrid learning platform, has launched AINA, a voice-first AI mentor designed to revolutionise NEET/JEE exam preparation for students. Ujjwal Singh, founding CEO, Infinity Learn, told FE that short for ‘AI NEET/JEE Assistant’, AINA is more than a chatbot, and combines the personalised support of a mentor with the efficiency of artificial intelligence. “The aim is to provide students with instant doubt resolution, conceptual clarity, test analytics, and motivational support,” Singh said. “AINA also stands for aaina – modern Hindi word for mirror, with roots in Persian – as it mirrors your exam progress.”

An accessible service

Singh said that AINA is available to both paid and non-paid users of Infinity Learn. “This accessibility is a core part of our vision to democratise mentorship and make it available to every student,” he said. “We’re also aiming to bring AINA’s capabilities to students in underserved government schools.”

But as is with most services, paid users will get access to more features. Paid AINA service is part of a bigger package in which you get access to many other services such as printed study material and access to offline test series, and the cost also depends on the exam you are preparing for (NEET or JEE) and your academic year (Class 11, Class 12, or dropper). “But the free service is also quite comprehensive,” Singh said.

How it works?

AINA starts with student profiling, then analyses academic performance, provides real-time feedback, and continuously updates personalised study plans. “While AI is used for many purposes, AINA’s USP is its holistic approach – it’s not just a doubt-solving bot, but is a human-like mentor,” Singh said. “The AI bot students talk to looks like a young girl, an elder-sister figure, which can make the learning experience more human. The average response time is just 5 seconds, and AINA can talk to you in English and nine Indian languages. The responses are not just academic, but also motivational, just like an elder sister would provide.”

He added that in a crowded edtech space, creating a unique and memorable brand identity is important. The elder-sister persona helps AINA stand out from other AI assistants that are often presented as gender-neutral or robotic, and a lot algorithmic, instead of personal.

Collaborative approach

AINA was developed over a year by Infinity Learn in tie-up with Google Cloud and the International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad (IIIT Hyderabad). “The process was data-driven, leveraging years of curated curriculum and student performance data from Infinity Learn’s ecosystem,” Singh said.
