Rajasthan Election 2023 survey: As the Assembly elections near the desert state of Rajasthan, Congress is projected to retain power in Rajasthan by winning a total of 97-105 seats, a new opinion poll has predicted.

The grand-old party currently has 100 seats in the 200-member Rajasthan Assembly with Ashok Gehlot being the current chief minister of the state.

According to the IANS-Polstrat Opinion Poll 2023, the BJP is projected to clinch 89-97 seats in the upcoming elections while the Congress is predicted to form government in the state for the second consecutive term.

The survey had a sample size of 6,705 with the timeline spanning from September 1 till September 13.

As per the survey, the Congress is enjoying a positive vote swing of 2 per cent and is projected to get 41 per cent of the vote share, while the BJP will get 40 per cent votes, the new poll by IANS predicted.

Furthermore, the survey shows that Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot is the most popular CM candidate with a score of 37.9 per cent, followed by Vasundhara Raje of the BJP at 25.5 per cent, and Sachin Pilot of the Congress at 25.4 per cent.

As many as 47.8 per cent of respondents rated Gehlot’s performance as good, as per the survey.

On the contrary, ABP News-CVoter opinion poll predicted that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) seems poised for a comfortable majority in the upcoming Rajasthan Assembly elections.

According to the ABP News-CVoter survey, spanning from June 26 to July 25, encompassing the views of 14,085 adults across the state, the BJP is expected to secure 109 to 119 seats, garnering a vote share of 45.8 per cent. On the other hand, the incumbent Congress government is projected to win 78 to 88 seats, with a vote share of 41 per cent. The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) is expected to secure 0-2 seats, with a projected vote share of 0.7 per cent, while ‘Others’ may win 1-5 seats, with a vote share of 12.5 per cent.
