Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Tuesday held a meeting with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders in Bhopal to discuss the forthcoming counting of votes for the Madhya Pradesh assembly elections, scheduled for December 3.
During the meeting, Chouhan stated, “We held discussions with the candidates and also prepared for the counting day.”
This meeting follows the re-polling conducted at a polling booth in Kishupura village, Ater constituency, Bhind district, following the orders of the Election Commission of India (ECI).

The re-polling at booth number three under polling centre number 71 was ordered in response to a complaint filed by Madhya Pradesh Cooperative and Public Service Management minister Arvind Singh Bhadoria, who requested a repoll at multiple polling stations.
The Returning Officer (RO) of Ater Constituency, Parag Jain, conducted an investigation upon Bhadoria’s complaint, leading to the recommendation of re-polling at the mentioned booth to District Election Officer Sanjeev Shrivastava.
The ECI took action against polling agents Satendra Singh Bhadauria, Santosh Singh, and two unidentified associates for various violations, including breaching the secrecy of voting, flouting the Model Code of Conduct, hindering government operations, and attempting to influence voting.
Simultaneously, presiding officer Satish Kumar, polling officer Yogendra Singh Bansal, and polling officer Pankaj Jayant, stationed at the booth, faced suspension.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Arvind Singh Bhadoria is contesting against former MLA Hemant Katare from the Congress party in the upcoming elections.
The Madhya Pradesh assembly elections witnessed 71.16 per cent voter turnout during the polling on November 17. The counting of votes is awaited and is scheduled for December 3.
