The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) split in July last year after Ajit Pawar and eight MLAs joined the Shinde government. As a result, the Election Commission granted him the party name and the ‘clock’ symbol, while the faction led by Sharad Pawar retained the name NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar) with the ‘man blowing tutari’ symbol.
Campaigning in Baramati, the Deputy CM said, "You might be thinking that I shouldn't have left Pawar saheb at this age. I didn't leave saheb. I told him it is the opinion of all MLAs that we must join the (Shinde) government as multiple development works we approved (under the Maha Vikas Aghadi dispensation) were put on hold. The MLAs even signed (in support of the government joining proposal)."

Priyanka Gandhi targeted the Mahayuti government over its flagship Ladki Bahin scheme, stating that women should vote for a better future, not because they are receiving Rs 1,500 a month. She further assured that if the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) forms the government, it would implement a Rs 7,000 per quintal Minimum Support Price (MSP) for soybean farmers.
The Congress leader added that Maharashtra currently has over 2.5 lakh vacant government posts and blamed the BJP for shifting crucial projects like Foxconn and Airbus to Gujarat, leading to job deprivation in the state.
"People are making efforts, learning new skills, but they still can't find jobs. This should have been the government's primary focus, but it has failed to fill these posts," she said.

Rana further alleged that the violence was orchestrated by the local taluka president of the Shiv Sena (UBT), stating, "It all started at 5 pm when the party workers started setting up the stage after taking all necessary permissions... Taluka president of Uddhav Thackeray's party lives in the village, and it was all done by his people... If they give us one, they will get two in return, in the same language that they understand."

An independent candidate contesting the Maharashtra assembly elections has made an unusual request to have slippers banned near polling booths in his constituency of Dharashiv, arguing that they are his poll symbol and their presence would violate the election code.
Gurudas Sambhaji Kamble, running for the Paranda assembly seat, has asked for a ban on "chappals" within a 200-metre radius of polling stations.
Under the Election Commission of India's code of conduct, candidates are prohibited from displaying their symbols near polling booths. In a letter to the election officer, Kamble pointed out that allowing voters or officials to wear slippers near the booths could inadvertently violate these rules.
"My electoral symbol is chappals. Wearing chappals within the 200-metre radius of polling booths could be seen as a violation of the code of conduct. To preempt such issues, I request a ban on slippers for all, including election officials, candidates, and voters. Anyone found wearing them should face strict action," Kamble stated in his letter.

NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar's bags were checked by election officials at the Baramati helipad in Maharashtra's Pune district on Sunday morning, according to his associate. Pawar was on his way to attend a rally in Solapur for the upcoming assembly elections.
The model code of conduct is in effect in the state for the November 20 elections. "While Pawar saheb was en route to his rally in Karmala, Solapur, his bags were checked at the Baramati helipad. After the routine inspection, he boarded the helicopter and continued his journey," the associate said.

Polling authorities in Nagpur have seized gold valued at Rs 14.5 crore amid the ongoing model code of conduct for the November 20 Maharashtra Assembly elections, an official reported.
The gold, consisting of ornaments and biscuits, was being transported by Gujarat-based Sequel Logistics. A flying surveillance team intercepted the shipment on Saturday, the official said.
The consignment arrived in Nagpur by flight on Thursday and was en route to Amravati. Authorities halted the vehicle while it was traveling from Ambazari Lake to Wadi.
"The gold was taken to the Ambazari police station. Upon investigation, it was found that Sequel Logistics did not have the necessary clearance from the Election Commission to transport such a large quantity of gold during the election period," the official stated.
An ongoing investigation is looking into the matter, he added.
