The under-construction Vapi Bullet Train station, a key node on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail corridor, is fast taking shape at Dungra village along the Vapi-Silvassa road. The station is being designed to reflect the spirit of speed, with a sleek façade and modern interiors that mirror the dynamism of high-speed travel.

Spanning a total built-up area of 28,917 square metres and standing approximately 22 metres tall (from ground to roof truss), the station promises a premium experience for passengers. Facilities such as a business class lounge, nursery, elevators, and escalators have been planned with commuter comfort in mind.

Strategically located, the station is well-connected to major transport hubs and industrial areas. It lies about 7 km from the Vapi Railway Junction, 7.5 km from the Vapi Bus Stop, and only 5 km from the Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC), ensuring easy accessibility for both commuters and industrial stakeholders.

Station Progress

According to officials, major civil works at the station are already completed. The casting of rail and platform-level slabs as well as the structural steel erection work has been finished. Roof sheeting and electrical installations are currently underway. The station’s approach viaduct heading towards Ahmedabad is complete, while work towards the Mumbai side is in progress.

Project Progress

The broader Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project continues to make steady strides:

304 km of viaduct and 388 km of pier work are complete.

14 river bridges, 7 steel bridges, and 5 prestressed concrete (PSC) bridges have been completed.

Around 163 track km of track bed construction has also been finished.

The Vapi station, once complete, will serve as a vital link in the high-speed rail network and significantly boost regional connectivity and economic growth.
