Indian Railways will commence the operation of Vande Bharat Express train between New Delhi and Patna from today. This will be the country’s first long distance (i.e. of more than 900 kms) semi-high speed train. The train will facilitate the passengers who are yet to reach their hometown in the wake of Diwali festival. However, as of now, the train will run as a Special train between the two capitals on selected days.
Distance, Travel time, and Frequency of NDLS-PNBE-NDLS Vande Bharat Express Special train:-
The New Delhi-Patna-New Delhi Vande Bharat Express train will cover a distance of 1000 km in 11 hrs and 35 minutes. This will be the second fastest train on the route followed by New Delhi-Dibrugarh Rajdhani and New Delhi-Howrah Duronto Express. Both the trains cover the same distance in 11:55 hrs and 12:15 hrs respectively.
As of now, this blue and white colour train will operate 3 days in each direction. From New Delhi railway station, the train will start its journey on November 11, 14 and 16. While, in return, this new age train will leave Patna Junction railway station on November 12,15 and 17, 2023.
Coach Composition of Train number 02252/02251 New Delhi-Patna-New Delhi Vande Bharat Express Special:-
A total of 16 coaches will be available in the train number 02252/02251 New Delhi-Patna-New Delhi Vande Bharat Express Special. This semi-high speed train will have two types of seating arrangements i.e. AC Chair Car (CC) and Executive Chair Car (EC).

As per the official portal of Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), the train number 02252 New Delhi-Patna Vande Bharat Express Special train is running with 185 and 55 waitlisting seats in AC Chair Car and Executive AC Chair Car respectively on November 11.
Stoppages and Timings of NDLS-PNBE-NDLS Vande Bharat Express Special train:-
Enroute, this semi-high speed Special train will stop at five railway stations – Kanpur Central, Prayagraj Junction, DD Upadhyaya Junction, Buxar and Ara Junction. From New Delhi, the train will depart at 07:25 hrs and will arrive at Patna Junction at 19:00 hrs. On return, the train will leave Patna Junction at 07:30 hrs and will reach the national capital at 19:00 hrs.
