The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) is a points-based system that we use to assess and score your profile and rank it in the Express Entry pool. It’s used to assess your skills, education, language ability, work experience other factors. To get an invitation to apply, your CRS score must be above the minimum points score of your round of invitations. These cut-off scores may vary each round.

You must establish your English or French language skills by passing an authorized language test, earning the minimum scores needed for your program, and entering the results in your Express Entry profile to be eligible for Express Entry. Your proficiency levels are evaluated by IRCC using the Niveaux de compétence linguistique canadien (NCLC) for French and the Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) for English.
