Kolkata Metro Railway authorities have launched new digital payment options aimed at enhancing commuter convenience and promoting modern ticketing practices. 

The introduction of the ‘Metro Ride Kolkata’ app has been well-received, allowing passengers to purchase tickets and manage fares online, avoiding the hassle of carrying cash and standing in long queues.

Special camps at Blue Line and Green Line 

Kolkata Metro also organised special camps at all Metro stations on the Blue Line and Green Line to further familiarise commuters with these advancements. 

These camps were held on August 17 and provided hands-on assistance for using the app and recharging or buying Smart Cards via ASCRM machines using UPI payment methods.

Additionally, promotional videos demonstrating the app’s features are being displayed on platform televisions at Blue Line and Green Line stations. Social media channels are also being utilised to spread awareness and guide users through the app’s functionalities.

According to the statement issued by Kausik Mitra, Chief Public Relations Officer, Kolkata Metro, by adopting these digital solutions, Metro users can now enjoy a more efficient and user-friendly ticketing process.
