ACME Solar Holdings has commissioned additional 16 MW of its 100 MW wind power project, located in Surendaranagar, Gujarat. This follows the first phase commissioning of 28 MW in the previous month of October.
The company said in its regulatory filing that the commissioning was witnessed and confirmed by Gujarat Energy Development Agency (GEDA) and Paschim Gujarat Vij Company (PGVCL) oficials. The formal certificate is expected to be issued shortly.
Project capacity rises to 44 MW
With this, the project’s operational capacity has now reached 44 MW. ACME Solar’s overall operational portfolio has also increased to 2,934 MW.
The Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission (GERC) recently extended the Scheduled Commercial Operation Date (SCOD) for the project after recognising Force Majeure events under the Power Purchase Agreement. The revised SCOD is now March 5, 2026. Despite this extension, ACME Solar has managed to commission 44 MW ahead of schedule in the first two phases.
The project has been financed by Power Finance Corporation (PFC) and constructed by ACME Solar’s in-house EPC team. It uses 4 MW turbines supplied by SANY. Power generated from the plant will be supplied to Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam under a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement signed with ACME Eco Clean.
