Two years back, Kyndryl was created from the spin-off of IBM’s infrastructure services business. The US-based company is charting its own course toward automation and hybrid infrastructure, with India being one of its key markets for growth. “We have provided the National Stock Exchange with business resiliency services; for Bangalore International Airport, we have created a unique “Airport-in-a-Box” platform to transform end-to-end travel experience of passengers,” says Rohit Sachdeva, vice president and business leader, strategic portfolio accounts and GCC, Kyndryl India, as he talks to Sudhir Chowdhary about some of the work done in India. How has Kyndryl carved out a new market for itself after the spinoff?
As an independent company, our focus on newer areas of digital transformation opened up significant opportunities for us. Our alliances with cloud hyperscalers helped expand our base and we’re progres-sing with more than $80 million in revenue tied in with them. We’ve focused our efforts on enhancing customer experience, build-ing capacity and capabilities in areas like cybersecurity, resiliency, and apps data and AI. Our progress is also led by growth in Kyndryl Consult Services. We’ve leveraged automation and AI in our advanced delivery initiatives and redeployed more than 6,500 delivery professionals to serve new revenue streams. Kyndryls have earned more than 37,000 cloud hyperscaler certifications in 2023.
How is Kyndryl incorporating AI into its operations?
Kyndryl brings innovation in its solutions by seamlessly incorporating AI and automation into them. Our AI-readiness programme provides customers with end-to-end services to explore and adopt GenAI solutions. In customer service engagements like ticket resolution, we employ AI to expedite the categorisation process, balancing automation with manual tasks. Kyndryl Bridge, our open integration services platform, uses AI to accelerate automation, drive efficiencies, and enhance security and resiliency.

We provided the National Stock Exchange with business resiliency services for automated resiliency orchestration and IT modernisation with built-in automation capabilities, improved security posture. We created a unique “Airport-in-a-Box” platform for Bangalore International Airport to transform the end-to-end travel experience of passengers. With Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India, we put together a hybrid cloud strategy and modernised their IT infrastructure, connecting their mission-critical operations across manufacturing and sales.
