According to Cointlegraph, Google has collaborated with Reddit, a social media platform. This collaboration will enable Reddit to supply its content for training Google’s artificial intelligence (AI) models.
Sources revealed that Google can use Reddit’s data application programming interface (API) through this collaboration. The partnership can provide real-time content from Reddit’s platform, enabling the display of Reddit content across Google’s products, added Cointelegraph.
It is believed that the update doesn’t impact the terms of Reddit’s data API. Additionally, it can maintain restrictions on commercial access without approval for developers or companies.
Reportedly, the partnership came after Reddit secured a training agreement with an AI company. Reddit is expected to secure about $60 million, through this agreement. Furthermore, Reddit plans to charge companies for API use in the past years, concluded Cointelegraph.
