Hy-Vee, Inc., a US grocery retailer based in West Des Moines, Iowa, has unveiled its new office in Bengaluru, marking an expansion of its operations in India. With the relocation to a 54,000-square-foot facility at Karle Tech Park Hy-Vee aims to tap into India’s talent pool for a variety of technical and non-technical roles.

The move is part of Hy-Vee’s broader strategy to support its global operations with a 24/7 work cycle, leveraging the expertise of its Indian workforce. The company, which operates over 550 retail outlets across the United States and generates nearly $14 billion in annual sales, has been expanding its footprint in India to enhance its operational capabilities and drive innovation.

The new office in Bengaluru was inaugurated by Travis Hoover, chief data officer at HyVee, who commented on the expansion, stating, “We are excited to see the HST Global team’s growth over the last year and a half and look forward to this new space supporting them as they continue to help move Hy-Vee forward as a retail leader.”

The new office, which accommodates up to 350 employees, features a garden city theme, 17 meeting rooms, collaboration spaces, and phone pods. Notably, it includes a Lalbagh-themed glasshouse. This office replaces the company’s previous Global Capability Center (GCC) established in April 2023 at Manyata Tech Park.

Hy-Vee’s technology division, Helpful Smiles Technology (HST) Global, which currently employs approximately 200 staff members, will transition to the new location. The move reflects the company’s ongoing investment in its global technology infrastructure and its commitment to fostering a creative and productive workspace for its team.

This expansion is expected to enhance Hy-Vee’s operational efficiency and support its continued growth in the Indian market, reinforcing the company’s role in the global retail landscape.
