After a survey, commissioned by Tinder, revealed that singles aged 18-24 spend an average of 33 minutes selecting the right profile photo for their dating app and 68% of the sample size agreeing with the need of AI, Tinder rolled out its new feature that utilizes AI to help the consumers select their profile picture. 

The survey also revealed that 85% are of the opinion that dating app profiles should represent their true selves while 52% find it hard to select a profile picture. With a sample size of 7000 individuals from the age group of 18-25, the survey also reveals how men including more than one face photo on their profile, increases the chance of them being matched with a woman by 71%.

From what is understood, this new launch focuses on helping individuals in making connections instead of spending unnecessary time in selecting a photo. “As demonstrated by our Photo Selector feature, we’re developing AI tech to assist you in making decisions, not to make them for you,”  Faye Iosotaluno, CEO, Tinder, commented.

However, this new launch is not available worldwide. Reportedly, Photo Selector will be available in the US and will only be launched in the international market later this year.
