Great art is often born out of instinct, but even the most seasoned creative professionals know that feedback is the key to growth. Whether it’s an aspiring designer sketching their first concept, a seasoned animator perfecting a sequence, or a digital artist refining details, structured critique can elevate a piece from good to great. But in a world driven by deadlines, who has the time to provide in-depth analysis? Enter Creval, an AI-powered creative evaluation tool that aims to bridge this gap with real-time, data-driven insights.

Aptech Limited, a leader in vocational training, has introduced Creval—a first-of-its-kind platform that combines generative AI with human expertise to assess and enhance visual creatives. “We identified a significant gap in structured creative feedback, and Creval is designed to fill that need. By leveraging AI, we are making professional evaluations accessible to a much broader audience,” Sandip Weling, chief business officer, Aptech, told FE.

What is Creval?

Creval is designed to provide structured, insightful, and comprehensive feedback on a variety of visual art forms, including animation, 3D design, graphics, and photography. It offers a seamless and efficient way for creative professionals to get detailed analysis and actionable insights to improve their craft. The tool is built using Amazon Bedrock’s AI capabilities, ensuring high security, privacy, and content protection. “For many creatives, receiving feedback is often time-consuming and subjective. Creval provides an objective, structured approach that helps artists improve faster,” Weling explained.

How Creval works

The platform simplifies the creative evaluation process by following a structured workflow:

  1. Access the Platform: Users log in via Creval’s web-based interface.
  2. Enter Details: Personalise the experience by providing relevant information.
  3. Purchase Credits: Buy evaluation credits based on specific needs.
  4. Upload Artwork: Submit creative work for AI-powered analysis.
  5. Review Results: Get a detailed evaluation report with scores and insights.

Marketing and expansion Plans

Aptech is leveraging its existing database of over 50,000 students to promote Creval, alongside a broader direct-to-consumer (D2C) marketing push. “In the current ecosystem, marketing and advertising become relatively easier for us because we already have a database of around 50,000 students. Informing them through our existing network won’t be a challenge,” Weling said. “However, the larger opportunity lies in expanding to a direct-to-consumer model, which is different from our current franchise-based approach.”

The company’s strategy includes:

  • Digital Ads: Running targeted campaigns on Google, Facebook, and Instagram.
  • Influencer Marketing: Collaborating with industry leaders to boost awareness.
  • Podcasts & Videos: Creating educational content featuring expert insights.
  • On-Ground Activations: Conducting workshops and seminars across colleges in India.

“Our target audience is diverse—it includes students, parents, and working professionals looking to upskill. To reach them, we will leverage multiple marketing channels, including search platforms like Google Ads, SEO-driven content, and immersive content on Meta platforms,” Weling added.

A referral program will also be a major driver of adoption, as 60% of Aptech’s current sales come from word-of-mouth recommendations.

BTL (Below-the-Line) activities

“We are running an extensive student outreach program, currently targeting 4-5 lakh students across colleges in India. The students enrolling with us are often not academically high-achievers—they typically score around 50-60% and may feel lost in terms of career direction,” Weling said.

To engage this audience, Aptech is:

  • Conducting seminars and workshops at targeted schools and colleges.
  • Using BTL activations to create awareness and drive engagement.
  • Inviting students to its centers for free workshops and seminars.

“Additionally, we have integrated a chatbot and lead nurturing system to maintain engagement over a 26-28 week period, ensuring a structured follow-up process that encourages conversions,” he added.

Pricing & future plans

Creval is currently priced at an introductory rate of Rs 170 which is equal to 1 Creval. As the platform scales, Aptech plans to shift to a subscription model, ensuring continuous value addition for users. The company aims to generate revenue from the D2C model, going up 300 to 350 crores within the next two to three years.

Beyond the creative industry, Aptech is also planning to expand Creval’s application into new education segments, aligning with India’s National Education Policy (NEP). “Our long-term vision is to integrate Creval into mainstream education and make structured creative feedback a standard learning tool,” he said. The goal is to reach 3-4 lakh students annually, significantly expanding its user base.

A game-changer for creative professionals

With its structured approach, real-time AI analysis, and human expertise integration, Creval marks a major advancement in the creative education space. Whether you are a student, a working professional, or an independent artist, Creval offers a unique opportunity to refine and elevate your work, making high-quality creative evaluation more accessible than ever.
