Russian flag carrier Aeroflot has announced the resumption of its direct flights from Moscow to Goa and Delhi, with services commencing from September 30, 2023. This expansion aims to cater to the travel and cargo demand between Russia and India.
Direct flights to Goa and Delhi from Russia
Aeroflot will be operating flights from Moscow and Ekaterinburg to Goa’s Dabolim International Airport, offering convenient access to this popular beach destination. The airline recognizes the high demand for flights to Goa, especially during the fall and winter seasons, which traditionally attract Russian tourists.
In addition to the Goa route, Aeroflot will also be launching direct flights from Moscow to Delhi, enhancing connectivity between the two capital cities. This development is in line with a bilateral agreement between India and Russia.
Flight Details
Starting from September 30, three weekly flights from Moscow’s Sheremetyevo airport will be operated on wide-body Airbus A330 aircraft. These flights will run on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, offering passengers flexibility in their travel plans.
From October 3, Aeroflot will operate three weekly flights from Ekaterinburg using Boeing 737-800 aircraft on the same schedule as the Moscow flights. This expanded flight network aims to accommodate travelers from different regions of Russia.
Cargo Opportunities
Aeroflot’s cargo department sees significant potential for cargo transportation. Flights operated on Airbus A330 to Moscow will cater to cargo demand from the western side of India, benefiting domestic Indian airlines as feeder carriers. Road transport will also play a crucial role in custom bonded cargo transportation from Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, and Mumbai.
Karpov Dmitry, Head of Cargo Department at Aeroflot Russian Airlines said that around 15 tons of cargo capacity from Delhi and an additional 10 tons from Goa will allow them to take dangerous goods and other special commodities.
Delmos Aviation: Facilitating Operations in India
Delmos Aviation, serving as the general sales and service agent for Aeroflot Russian Airlines in India, will play a pivotal role in coordinating and facilitating these expanded flight operations. With these new flight routes and cargo opportunities, Aeroflot aims to strengthen its presence in India and enhance travel and trade connections between Russia and India.
