In a bid to enhance connectivity in Andhra Pradesh, the state’s Industries and Commerce Minister TG Bharat on Friday (July 5) announced that flight services connecting Vijayawada and Kurnool will soon commence. The announcement comes after Bharat’s meeting with Union Aviation Minister K Ram Mohan Naidu in New Delhi.
During his meeting, Bharat formally requested air connectivity between the two cities. “Requested for flight services between Vijayawada and Kurnool. Importantly, I also sought night landing facility (in Kurnool),” Bharat stated in an official press release.
Naidu promises to launch flight services soon
The Civil Aviation Minister assured that flight services would be launched promptly and committed to facilitating the night landing facility within a year. Bharat further mentioned that the Aviation Minister has already instructed officials to initiate the necessary actions.
Ease of flying to be top priority for Naidu
Naidu has time and again emphasised the need to enhance the ease of flying experience in civil aviation as a top priority, given the increasing accessibility of air travel to the general public. According to Naidu, this aligns closely with the government’s longstanding commitment to making air travel more accessible and convenient for all.
“We will make civil aviation or the air travel in this country more approachable to the common man of this country, and more easily accessible…I’m stressing the word ease of flying, let it be, in the sense of the comfort, or the convenience or the safety, security, whatever aspects it comes regarding the passenger that is choosing air travel, we would make him the core of whatever planning or thought process we are going through today,” Naidu said.
