Wipro has strengthened its initiative to address the employability of Indian manpower, by expanding the advisory board of Wipro Mission10X, a note for profit trust meant to guide engineering faculty in the country.
Senior academics including former vice-chancellor of Kuvempu University, Prof Chidananda Gowda, former vice-chancellor Pune University – Prof A S Kolaskar and former chairman of AICTE and former director of IIT-Chennai Prof R Natarajan, were now part of the advisory board of Mission 10X, a Wipro statement said.
Mission 10X was launched by Wipro in September 2007 and has formally covered five states in India. The company vice president – human resources, Pratik Kumar, said that the programme aimed to cover 10,000 faculties by 2010. The programme offered a layered set of capability building workshops to help engineering Faculty nurture talent pool across the country.
