GSM operators in the country added 6 million subscribers in the month of February against 6.5 million in January. With the addition in February, the total GSM subscriber base has gone up to 184 million as against 178 million in January, the Cellular Operators Association of India said on Monday.

Bharti Airtel continued to lead in terms of user base with a total base of 59 million users and a market share of 32.3%. Vodafone Essar followed with 42 million users and a market share of 23%. Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) stands at the third palce with a subscriber base of 34 million and 18.72% of the market share. Idea Cellular?s subscriber base stood at 23 million with a 12.39% market share while state-owned MTNL?s subscriber base stood at 3 million with a market share of 1.69%.
