Cadila Healthcare on Tuesday said its consolidated net profit rose by 29.49% to Rs 170.8 crore for the second quarter ended September 30. The company had a consolidated net profit of Rs 131.9 crore in the same period previous fiscal, Cadila Healthcare said in a filing to Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). Total income of the company rose to Rs 1,120.5 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, compared to Rs 949.8 crore in the same period last fiscal. For the six month period ending September 30, 2010, the company net profit was Rs 370.02 crore against Rs 256.71 crore in the year-ago period. Net sales of the company for the six months ended September 30, 2010, stood at Rs 2161.41 crore, compared to Rs 1792.89 crore in the same period previous fiscal.

Mangalore Chem profit up 127%

Mangalore Chemicals & Fertilisers on Tuesday recorded a nearly 127% increase in net profit to Rs 33.82 crore for the second quarter ended September 30 on higher sales. The company, which predominantly is involved in the fertiliser segment, had recorded a Rs 14.9 crore net profit during the year-ago period, it said. Net sales of the company during the July-September period of the current fiscal stood at Rs 1021.94 crore, compared to Rs 609.89 crore during the corresponding period one-year ago.

Greaves Cotton profit rises 52%

Greaves Cotton on Tuesday reported net profit of Rs 36.27 crore for the July-September quarter, up 51.8% from a year ago. In a notice to the National Stock Exchange on Tuesday, the company said its net sales rose 27.3% from previous year to Rs 378 crore. Total expenditure for the quarter stood at Rs 325 crore, up 25% from a year ago while raw material costs rose 31.7% to Rs 252 crore.

Ingersoll-Rand net rises 70.6%

Ingersoll-Rand India Ltd Tuesday reported July-September net profit of Rs 18.55 crore, up 70.6% from a year ago. In a notice to Bombay Stock Exchange, the company said its net sales in the quarter rose 39.2% to Rs 114 crore. In July-September, its total expenditure stood at Rs 100 crore, up 34.3% from a year ago.

Supreme profit surges 103% to Rs 40 crore

Supreme Industries said its July-September net profit was Rs 40.30 crore, up 103% from a year ago. In a notice to National Stock Exchange, the company said its net sales for the quarter stood at Rs 470 crore, up 37.34% from a year ago. The company?s total expenditure in the first quarter rose to Rs 395 crore, up 35.28% from a year ago. Supreme Industries raw material consumption rose to Rs 301 crore, up 29.44% from a year ago.

Oriental Hotels Jul-Sep net at Rs 1.97 crore

Oriental Hotels on Tuesday reported July-September net profit of Rs 1.97 crore, up 14% from a year ago. The company said its net sales for the quarter rose 22.2% to Rs 50.78 crore.
