Strategically identify itself with the state, as the party has a long 15 years of rule, the BJP has planned to hit the campaign trail in Gujarat with an equally catchy slogan ?Jeetega Gujarat? to counter the Congress? ?chak de Gujarat?.
The said slogan is seen, as a move by the party to reach out to the people with a message of ??stupendous?? economic growth in Gujarat and also highlighting chief minister Narendra Modi?s ?special bonding? with the state.
Undermining the Congress’ slogan, a senior party leader said, their ?chak de? is alien to the people of Gujarat as the words are taken from ??Punjabi dialect??. ??Politically speaking the popularity of the movie has little to do with electioneering in the state,?? he said.
The party will distribute pamphlets listing achievements of the Modi government and campaign stickers featuring pictures of senior party leaders Atal Bihari Vajpayee, LK Advani, Rajnath Singh along with Modi.
The CM would also be seen propounding the state?s performance in various television advertisements that will hit the screens in the next few days.
The party has prepared 11 such advertisements of about 30 seconds each covering topics including terrorism, Ram Setu, rural electrification and schemes for the girl child.
After the nominations for the first phase of elections close on November 25, top central leaders will address a series of public meetings across the state.
??The thrust of the campaign will be on development with focus on ideology, leadership and performance,?? the leader said.
Moreover, ridiculing the Congress for its negative campaign in the state, the leader said, ??The opposition parties in the state are mainly focusing their energy in denying the achievements, which Gujarat has made in last five years and we feel that the same will not work.??
