Base metal prices recovered up to Rs 2 per kg in the local non-ferrous metal market on Wednesday largely in line with a firming trend in global markets.

Sentiment turned better as copper gained in global markets after China said it will help Europe resolve its debt crisis, boosting the growth outlook for the region.

Meanwhile, copper for three months advanced 0.8 per cent

to 8,485 dollar a tonne on the London Metal Exchange.

In the national capital, copper mixed scrap and nickel (4×4) recovered by Rs 2 each to Rs 393 and Rs 1,055-1,057

per kg respectively.

Zinc ingot, lead ingot and lead imported were also traded Re one each higher at Rs 121-127, Rs 131 and Rs 129 per kg

respectively.
