AREVA T&D India, the Indian arm of the French public multinational industrial conglomerate, has bagged two major turnkey project orders from Chhattisgarh State Power Transmission (CSPTCL) and West Bengal State Electricity Transmission (WBSETCL), with a combined value of Rs 63 crore.

This has been the third order AREVA has bagged in recent days after getting an order from BHEL for a gas-insulated substation package required for manufacture and installation of 429kv and 230kv substation in Tamil Nadu. AREVA bagged the Rs 70 crore BHEL order in March this year.

Rathin Basu, AREVA T&D?s country president and managing director, said the orders from CSPTCL are for manufacturing and installing of a 132 kv air-insulated substation (AIS) at Patan plant in central Chhattisgarh and for a 220 kv (AIS) at the Vishrampur plant in north Chhattisgarh. The orders are scheduled to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2010-11 and the second quarter of 2011-12 respectively.

The WBSETCL contract, scheduled for completion by the fourth quarter of 2011-12, is for the supply and installation of a 132/33 kv AIS at the Nazipur plant in Firojpur in north Bengal. The WBSETCL order includes two bay extension projects for 132kv AIS at Amtala in Kolkata as well.

The turnkey projects would also include supply of power and instrument transformers, high voltage circuit breakers and control & relay panels, Basu said.

AREVA earlier bagged three orders from Chhattisgarh and five from West Bengal for transmission and distribution solutions, Basu added.
