A young humpback whale, dubbed ‘Hope’, was spotted near San Marine in Oregon and remained beached for 45 hours before being euthanised on Monday. Rescue efforts, including the use of harness and pulley, were unsuccessful due to the whale’s massive size and the rapidly changing situation. Despite the community’s efforts and prayers, euthanasia was deemed the most humane option.
