The government will launch a credit guarantee scheme for MSMEs in the next quarter to assist them in dealing with US tariffs and other challenges. The scheme will cover 100% of loans given by lenders, excluding deliberate defaulters. The ECLGS has been successful in improving asset quality and reducing loan defaults. The formalization of MSMEs has also aided banks in accessing reliable data.
