Samsung Galaxy Tab A 2017 launched: Smartphone giant Samsung has unveiled its latest entry in the tablet segment, Galaxy Tab A (2017) in Vietnam market, indianexpress.com reported. Launched with the price tag of $285 (Rs 18, 200 approximately), Galaxy Tab A (2017) features an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus, f/1.9 aperture, LED flash, 1080p video recording, and an HDR Pro mode.
On the front side, the device comes with a 5-megapixel camera for selfie and video calling. On the connectivity part, the phone packs, LTE, GPS, dual-band Wi-Fi b/g/n, GLONASS, BeiDou, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 4.2, microUSB 2.0 port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
In an upgrade to its predecessor, Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2017), the tablet packs with a 5,000 mAh battery. The company claims that the battery is good enough to give up to 15 hours of Internet usage over LTE or Wi-Fi. On the operating system part, the tablet runs Android 7.1 out-of-the-box.
In a special feature, the phone ships with a Home mode that lets users quickly check information like calendar, weather time, and dates. Galaxy Tab A (2017) supports intelligent background rotation which lets the users personalise the screen with a set of their images.
Earlier, it was expected the tablet might see its launch alongside the Galaxy Note 8. The device, which has now been launched, is available in gold and black color variants. However, the company has so far not officially announced if and when the tablet will be made available in other markets as well.
