US President Donald Trump’s former campaign manager issued an eye-widening warning for the 2026 Super Bowl, where Puerto Rican star Bad Bunny is slated to headline the Halftime Show. Amid ICE agents‘ controversial takeover and immigration crackdown in the United States, Corey Lewandowski affirmed in his alarming statement that federal authorities would be deployed to the NFL’s biggest night next year.
Trump advisor confirms ICE will be on-site at Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl 2026
During an interaction with right-wing influence Benny Johnson, Lewandowski responded to a question after ICE enforcement at the Super Bowl. “There is nowhere you can provide safe haven to people who are in this country illegally. Not the Super Bowl and nowhere else,” the Trump advisor said. “We will find you and apprehend you and put you in a detention facility and deport you. Know that is a very real situation under this administration, which is contrary to how it used to be.”
The longtime Trump ally, who now serves as an advisor to the Department of Homeland Security, said it was shameful that the Super Bowl Halftime Show presented by Apple Music had picked the Puerto Rican singer to perform next year.
“We should be trying to be inclusive, not exclusive. There are plenty of great bands and entertainment people who could be playing at that show that would be bringing people together and not separating them,” he continued. Speaking the DHS and ICE jargon, Lewandowski maintained authorities are “going to do enforcement everywhere” regardless of whose concert it may be.
“If there are illegal aliens, I don’t care if it’s a concert for Johnny Smith or Bad Bunny or anybody else,” he went on, adding, “… We are going to make Americans safe. That is a directive from the president. If you’re in this country illegally, go home.”
The Trump advisor’s response comes about a month after Bad Bunny told I-D that he’d ruled out touring in the US because “f***ing ICE could be outside [my concert].”
Bad Bunny Super Bowl Halftime Show – His only US performance
He further insisted, “There were many reasons why I didn’t show up in the US, and none of them were out of hate — I’ve performed there many times… I’ve enjoyed connecting with Latinos who have been living in the US But specifically, for a residency here in Puerto Rico, when we are an unincorporated territory of the US … People from the US could come here to see the show.”
CONFIRMED: ICE will be active and on-site at Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl performance.

This past Sunday, however, Bad Bunny backtracked from his decision related to US shows. Sharing the big announcement via his SNS profiles, he said, “I’ve been thinking about it these days, and after discussing it with my team, I think I’ll do just one date in the United States.”
Given the current political climate of America, he has since dedicated his upcoming show in the country to “my people, my culture and our history.” Super Bowl Halftime Show’s executive producer Jay-Z also hailed the development, saying, “What Benito has done and continues to do for Puerto Rico is truly inspiring. We are honored to have him on the world’s biggest stage,” as per the Rolling Stone.
