Mary Millben who slammed Rahul Gandhi, once touched PM Modi’s feet and backed operation sindoor
US singer Mary Millben slams Rahul Gandhi, praises PM Modi’s leadership, supports Operation Sindoor, and urges stronger India-US ties amid political tensions.
US singer Mary Millben, who slammed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his recent remarks against PM Modi has always been a big supporter of PM Modi and Indian culture.
Responding to Rahul Gandhi’s recent post accusing PM Modi of being “frightened” of President Donald Trump and “allowing” Trump to dictate India’s foreign policy decisions, Millben did not hold back.
“You are wrong, @RahulGandhi. PM @narendramodi is not afraid of President Trump. PM Modi understands the long game, and his diplomacy with the US is strategic. Just as @POTUS will always put America’s interests first, so will PM Modi do what is best for India. And I applaud that. That’s what Heads of State do,” Millben wrote on X.
Taking a direct jab at Gandhi, she added that the Congress leader lacks the “acumen to become the Prime Minister,” and suggested he should go back to his “I hate India tour.”
Millben has consistently advocated for stronger India-US relations. During the earlier India-US tariff standoff, she voiced concern on social media over rising tensions and the impact on small businesses in both nations.
“America needs India, and India needs America. Any direction in policy that strains our strategic alliance is the wrong direction,” she said, addressing both President Trump and PM Modi.
“@POTUS and @NarendraModi, my beloved leaders, this exchange of ‘muscular verbiage’ on tariffs is troubling us all. Furthermore, countless small businesses in the US and India are hurting in this ‘tariff tug of war.’ I speak to them daily. Remember, we need each other. Negotiate as real friends. Find common ground. Your legacies and the well-being of our countries depend on this moment,” she noted on X.
When Millben touched PM Modi’s feet
Millben, who sang the Indian national anthem during PM Modi’s diaspora event in the United States, shared an emotional reflection on the moment she touched the Prime Minister’s feet
“I’m still a bit speechless to be quite honest this morning here in Washington DC. When I woke up early this morning, I kind of pinched myself and said did that really happen last night? Was I really singing on stage next to the Honourable Prime Minister Modi, who I have such admiration and respect for?” she recalled in an exclusive interview with News18.
“Knowing I was going to share some time on the stage with the Prime Minister, I wanted to publicly honour him. I wanted to publicly show my appreciation for his leadership.”
Millben explained, “Yeah, it was just a moment where I wanted to express to the Prime Minister and certainly to India and the Indian communities across the world, that this is a tradition, that not only Indians carry it to heart, but we all carry to heart. I learned that touching the feet of elders is touching their hearts. So when you touch elders’ feet, you’re showing reverence and respect. I have such reverence and respect for Prime Minister Modi and I was grateful to have a moment to honour him publicly.”
Backing PM Modi on Manipur and Operation Sindoor
Millben also stood firmly behind Prime Minister Modi amid criticism over the Manipur issue. “The truth: India has confidence in its leader. The mothers, daughters, and women of #Manipur, India will receive justice. And #PMModi will always fight for your freedom,” she posted on X.
She also voiced strong support for Operation Sindoor, defending India’s military efforts and invoking a powerful quote from Ronald Reagan.
“As for the enemies of freedom, peace is the highest aspiration. We will negotiate for it, sacrifice for it, we will never surrender for it, now or ever.” – President Ronald Reagan
Adding her own words, she wrote, “Never surrender, India. Defend peace. Defend freedom. My respect to India’s courageous Armed Forces, Prime Minister @narendramodi, Minister @rajnathsinghbjp, and @defenceminindia. My prayers for the innocent victims and families of this war in #India and #Pakistan.”
