World’s richest man Elon Musk reflected on his recently concluded stint under US President Donald Trump as head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Recalling the lessons he learnt during his time at the White House, Must told venture capitalists at a summit that his main takeaway from his work in Washington, DC was that the “government is basically unfixable”. Musk’s comments came at the annual ‘ALL-IN’ Summit hosted by prominent venture capitalists Chamath Palihapitiya, Jason Calacanis, David Sacks and David Friedberg.
Musk further said that he has not been to DC since May. “That was a hell of a side quest,” Musk said during an interview at the Summit. “If you look at our national debt, which is insanely high, the interest payments exceed the War Department budget,” Musk went on. “So, if AI and robots don’t solve our national debt, we are toast,” he added.

Trump-Musk Feud
Musk’s remarks serve as the latest addition to the Trump-Musk feud that started earlier in June this year. This famous feud, which captivated the internet, was sparked by Musk’s fiery criticism of the “One Big Beautiful Bill” was signed into law by President Trump on July 4.
The feud reached its peak in July when Musk took to X to make allegations about Donald Trump’s involvement in the Epstein files, causing a huge political uproar. This battle reached its climax towards the end of that month when Musk announced he would be forming a new political party called the “America Party”.
White House’s collaboration with Big Tech
Earlier this month, President Trump hosted a public dinner at the White House with numerous high-profile tech executives. The dinner talks focused on artificial intelligence (AI), innovation and securing major investment commitments from tech giants in the United States.
Unsurprisingly, Trump’s former affiliate Musk was on the guest list. Notable executives present at the dinner included Mark Zuckerberg, Tim Cook, Bill Gates, Satya Nadella, Sundar Pichai, Sergey Brin, Sam Altman, Greg Brockman and David Limp.
