PM Narendra Modi US Visit Highlights: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump has wrapped up his two-day US visit after meeting Donald Trump and addressing a joint press conference early Friday morning, as per IST. Some of the key announcements that were made at the press conference include new consulates in Los Angeles and Boston and US and India targeting a $500 billion bilateral trade by 2030. Along with this, PM Modi also spoke on US and India fighting extremism together. Trump too made some important announcements like the ‘biggest trade route in history’, increasing military sales to India, and providing India with F-35 jets.

The two held bilateral talks earlier following Trump‘s announcement to increase US tariffs to match the tax rates that other countries charge on imports. Trump had specifically mentioned India saying that it imposes the highest tariffs. His comments came just hours before his meeting with PM Modi. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, NSA Ajit Doval and India’s Ambassador to the US Vinay Mohan Kwatra were part of the Indian delegation who attended the meeting with the PM at the White House.

PM Modi also met Tesla CEO Elon Musk at the Blair House in Washington DC on Thursday. Musk, who currently heads the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), was seen in attendance with three of his children.
