Israel on Friday, launched a major wave of airstrikes targeting Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, reportedly killing several senior military officials and scientists. The strikes marked a sharp escalation in regional hostilities, with Tehran vowing retaliation. The global community braced for further developments, while leaders across the world issued formal responses. However, one such response from Pakistan’s Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif, unexpectedly grabbed headlines for an entirely different reason.

‘I condom the attack’

Amid the unfolding crisis, Prime Minister Sharif attempted to post a message of solidarity with Iran on social media. But instead of writing “I condemn,” a screenshot of his now-deleted X post showed the phrase, “I condom the attack on Iran by Israel…” The typo instantly became fodder for social media users, who flooded platforms with jokes, memes, and commentary.

‘“I Condom’: Pakistan’s Prime Minister mistakenly wrote ‘condom’ instead of ‘condemn’ in support of Iran,” one user posted, sharing the viral screenshot. The error, though quickly corrected, momentarily hijacked the narrative, diverting attention from a serious geopolitical development.

Adding to the episode’s notoriety, a user asked Grok, an AI chatbot, to retrieve the deleted tweet. Grok responded, “Yeah, it seems the typo was real. Pakistan’s PM meant to say ‘condemn’ but wrote ‘condom’… Typos happen, but this one stole the spotlight from the geopolitical issue.”

The incident was widely seen as an embarrassing misstep at a moment when world leaders were carefully calibrating their responses.

Meanwhile, the typo was eventually corrected and a formal condemnation has been issued, the internet had already run with the error.
