Taylor Swift isn’t just the wealthiest female musician on the planet — she has made history as the first musician ever to build a billion-dollar fortune solely from her music.
The Cruel Summer singer’s net worth has soared to $1.6 billion, according to Forbes. The record-breaking Eras Tour and her valuable music catalog — boosted by the re-released “Taylor’s Version” albums — have accounted for $1.2 billion of that wealth. Her real estate portfolio has reportedly added another $110 million.
Regaining Her Masters After Six Years
But wealth alone wasn’t Swift’s biggest victory. In May 2025, she revealed that she had finally regained ownership of her masters, six years after they were sold to Scooter Braun.
“This is my handwritten diary entries from my whole life,” she explained during an August 2025 interview on New Heights, the podcast hosted by her boyfriend Travis Kelce and his brother Jason. Swift recalled the overwhelming emotions when she got the call.
“I think you thought something was wrong,” she told Travis, who was with her at the time. “I was like, ‘I got my music back,’ and then just start absolutely heaving … this changed my life. I can’t believe it still.”
Breaking Records and Inspiring Change
Swift has long emphasized that her career is about more than personal milestones. Speaking to TIME in December 2023, she explained why her financial success matters for women in the industry.
“What has existed since the dawn of time? A patriarchal society. What fuels a patriarchal society? Money, flow of revenue, the economy,” she said. “So actually, if we’re going to look at this in the most cynical way possible, feminine ideas becoming lucrative means that more female art will get made. It’s extremely heartening.”
Billionaire Status Fueled by Music and Touring
From her re-recordings to her record-breaking tour, Swift’s empire has continued to grow. According to Forbes, she has amassed $800 million from royalties and touring, and another $600 million from her music catalog. Her real estate holdings are valued at around $110 million.
The 14-time Grammy Award winner, who began releasing music at just 15, has released 11 original studio albums. Since 2019, she has re-recorded four of her early albums — Fearless (Taylor’s Version), Red (Taylor’s Version), Speak Now (Taylor’s Version), and 1989 (Taylor’s Version) — each met with massive success.
The Eras Tour Phenomenon
In March 2023, Swift embarked on her groundbreaking Eras Tour, a three-and-a-half-hour, 44-song spectacle spanning her career across 10 studio albums. The tour concludes in December 2024 and has been one of the highest-grossing tours in history.
With five new albums released in recent years, including 2024’s The Tortured Poets Department, Swift shows no signs of slowing down — cementing her place not only as a cultural icon but also as the most successful musician in history.
