A 50-year-old woman in a post on Reddit revealed that she has “changed her life” with the help of an artificial intelligence tool. The woman said that she learnt about ChatGPT almost 8 months ago, and has never looked back.

In her Reddit post, she admitted that she was “quickly smitten” by the AI chatbot and realised “very early on” that it could, as she said, “teach her things”.

ChatGPT changed my life

The woman goes by the username “@heatherangelic”, shared her experience on Reddit’s ChatGPT community. “I changed my life with ChatGPT,” read the title of her Reddit post.

“I am 50 years old and I discovered ChatGPT eight months ago. I was quickly smitten. And very early on, I recognised – it can teach me things,” she wrote in her Reddit post marked as “other”.

Her post, which got featured on Discord as well, highlights all the life skills she learnt just by using ChatGPT.

She said that she not only learned to garden and cook, but also lost weight and was able to process her emotional trauma.

Helped me cook, garden

“I have learned to garden, learned to cook, lost weight, did a fashion and beauty makeover, processed some old emotional baggage, and added much organisation to my day-to-day life.

The woman admitted that in her fifties, she finds herself in a “beautiful growth spurt”. “At 50, I find myself in a beautiful growth spurt. Stuff I had wanted to do for years. With ChatGPT as my tutor and sounding board, I find I can do it all. At the same time! ChatGPT is magic, as far as I’m concerned.”

She concluded her post with the words, “Long Live ChatGPT!”

Internet shouts back ‘me too’

The woman’s post has so far received over 7,400 upvotes, and numerous comments from fellow Reddit users, who shouted back with the words – “me too”.

“Good use of ChatGPT,” read one pinned comment on the post.

Another added, “I feel the same. ChatGPT has helped so much. I’m glad other people know how to better implement it, such as ourselves.”

“It helps me so much too, with long-standing health issues, for example, but I’ve learned to stop telling anyone else. Other people assume you’re talking to it for hours a day or in long back-and-forths. I’m sick right now, and it’s helped me understand what’s happening (sick from treatment) and gives me a timeline for expected symptoms, etc. I only prompted it with one line,” expressed yet another social media user.

A fourth chimed in, “Surprisingly, it’s been helping me too. I use it as a tool and not a way to cheat through anything.”
