Social media’s undying storm of viral content has now caught the titular Simpsons character Homer in his “natural habitat,” as some netizens are calling it. But these brand-new visuals going bonkers on the Internet didn’t involve just one Homer, but “a bus load of Homers” dropping in Santa Monica, California, this week.

According to a video shared by user ‘@TheCartelDel,’ tonnes of Homer Simpsons invaded the streets of Santa Monica on Tuesday (US time). Popular pop culture page ‘@DiscussingFilm’ on X also shared another glimpse at countless versions of the loveable character taking over a donut shop in the US city.

“I’m guessing the Fortnite x Simpsons event is the reason a literal bus load of Homer’s just got dropped off in Santa Monica – without any prior warning,” Del wrote alongside his now-viral video of the Homer takeover.

In a follow-up addition, he posted another video capturing scenes of an army of the popular TV icon dotting a street, going about their own business at one spot or the others. “I don’t think I can accurately convey how MANY there were,” he added with the clip.

Meanwhile, the other videos of the “Simpson invasion” caught hard-to-count numbers of the character storming a donut stop. While most of them were lined up grab their quota of the sugary delights, a few were even pictured seemingly serving their alternate versions behind the counters.

A different hard-to-miss visual included a seemingly passed-out Homer Simpson having crashed out on the side. He was seen trying his all to catch his composure and stand up while surrounded by cash and a fallen box of donuts. We will never know what the outcome of his frantic efforts to take control of the situation were, as the clip cuts off right as he gets on his knees and reaches out towards the paper box.

Simpsons Fortnite crossover prompts Homer clones takeover

The hilarious turnout in spotted by locals in Santa Monica has equally climbed the ranks of becoming a worldwide viral hit on social media. The visual treat unleashing the Homer clones army comes out amid the ongoing ‘Fortnite x The Simpsons’ season.

The crossover with the long-running TV icon serves as the ‘Chapter 6: Mini Season 2.’ According to leakers on social media, the Simpsons Fortnite seasons may conclude on Saturday, November 29.

Over two weeks ago, Fortnite welcomed fans to Springfield–the primary location where the American animated sitcom and its characters are situated–through a trailer release. The ultimate crossover went even bonkers as it channelled The Simpsons spin-off Treehouse of Horror in Fortnite more recent “Multiplidiocy” trailer, which witnessed Homer clones spread out across the island in hordes.

Internet reacts to Homer-Simpsons donut shop invasion

Quite a few Simpsons fans couldn’t help but look back at the “Treehouse of Horror XIII” episode, noting, “Dear lord that episode where Homer cloned himself with the hammock is real, Some of the Homers came to the real world!” Another user added, “It’s the real Tree House of Horror” episode.

A much-loved comment read: “WE LIVE IN THE BEST TIMELIME.”

Several others who couldn’t help but rave about the ‘best of both worlds’ noted the donut shop “invasion” was “basically the plot of the Simpsons Fortnite season and I am not joking.”

Yet another person cheered on the Fortnite’s marketing strategy, and wrote, “every time I see someone join Fortnite or start pushing some weird marketing I can always pinpoint it to some release that is being pushed but I can’t find any reason why Homer Simpson is taking over a donut shop in Santa Monica.”

While some couldn’t figure out the Fortnite-Homer clones connection, a user well versed in the lore pointed towards the last update of the season and the new game trailer. The further expansion of the Simpsons chapter will include floating donuts with Homer clones, a power plant update, the Springfield Lake corruption arc and new weapons.
