The internet once fawned over the now-shattered grim possibility of Taylor Swift taking on Marvel studios’ Dazzler mantle in Deadpool & Wolverine. Netizens are now harbouring similar hopes of BLACKPINK Lisa‘s major DC universe transformation. In the former case, all those beliefs tumbled hard when all the supposed rumours and “Easter Eggs,” some even floated by official accounts, turned out nothing more than a misdirection. Does the same fate await K-pop fans? Guess, we’ll find out.

The Thailand-born rapper being a passionate luxury car collector is no news of today as Lisa has endlessly expressed her love for the expensive machines via her social media. However, one of her recent shares spotlighting a Ferrari, some BLACKPINK concert moments and fan-pushed comparisons with comic book characters particularly gained unexpected nods from the far extremes of the same pop culture mainstream spectrum that she exists on.

BLACKPINK Lisa’s Ferrari Instagram post that went viral

As part of the multi-slide carousel were snaps of her sporting street fashion while flaunting her Ferrari Roma, which is worth over 300 million won (approx $270,000) and BLACKPINK’s brand-new “JUMP” music video. In addition to some other personal snaps, the K-pop star was also caught riding the viral fad of Labubu dolls. But what especially stole the spotlight were these two other very-DC universe-coded pictures.

One particular slide split the screen into two halves, presenting parallels between one of Lisa’s “Deadline” tour outfits that bears a striking resemblance to Wonder Woman’s iconic costume and the fictional character herself. The other camera grab pictured in the same slide showed yet another one of her concert attires appearing to be a reworked iteration of the old Catwoman (Halle Berry) costume. The final share on the post drew eyeballs to her holding a Catwoman phonecase, which has recently emerged as a recurring feature in her post, as established by internet sleuths.

How DC responded to the post including Lisa x Wonder Woman, Catwoman comparisons

The DC official Instagram page, as in the very superhero universe that is home to comic book icons, including Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash and others “of the cloth,” as Nathan Fillion’s Guy Gardner aka Green Lantern called it in the 2025 Superman movie. “We’re scrolling (suspicious eye emoji) (black heart) (bat) (star),” the page reacted, reiterating her caption that read, “Keep scrolling (suspicious eye emoji).”

Leaving the cheeky message in the “New Woman” hit-maker’s comment section, the official DC page had many other doing double takes to confirm if it was, in fact, the real deal. When fans realised that it was, both Instagram and X exploded with threads backing the supporters’ belief system that counted on their beloved girl potentially joining the same cinematic universe that recently blew up the box office with David Corenswet, Rachel Brosnahan and Nicholas Hoult’s arrival powered by James Gunn‘s creative vision.

Fans pin-pointed several other comments penned by official accounts under Lisa’s Ferrari post, while observing that they were all somehow linked to DC. As per screenshots circulating on the SNS site, the official HBO Max Thailand page said, “OMG, the beauty of DC heroines is literally contained in this one person (heart eyes).” HBO Max Singapore also commented, “Serving girl power (heart eyes),” and the DC Asia Official page added, “SLAYED both (fire),” referring to Lisa’s potential cosplay both Wonder Woman and Catwoman onstage.

BLINKs also especially noticed that the “Rockstar” singer had only shared pictured-parallels of her onstage clicks with DC characters Wonder Woman and Cat Woman. The idol-actress possibly deciding to conveniently keep comparisons with Marvel’s Emma Frost out of the post didn’t help the situation either, further inflating fans’ so-far-unsubstantiated speculations about her joining the superhero world led by Gunn and Peter Safran.

Other SNS posts fan the ‘BLACKLINK Lisa x DC’ collab fire

Around the same time, a BLACKPINK fanpage on Instagram also started spreading the word on Lisa being “rumoured… to play the role of Batgirl in an upcoming action film DC Studios.” They plugged in X screenshots where fans seemed more than convinced that the “Lalisa” crooner’s costume picks for the full-group concerts were intentional and “big HINT(s).” Simultaneously, an X thread titled, “everything we know so far about a potential lisa x dc collab a thread,” also emerged on social media.

Having already made her Hollywood debut in the third seasons of The White Lotus this year, shared her innate desire to play a “badass” in an actioner with Variety. On the Batgirl front, however, things weren’t as hunky-dory always. In 2022, Warner Bros shelved a Leslie Grace-led Batgirl film even though it was in its post-production phase. As the decision was finalised with no such feature being released in theatres or on HBO Max, the then-new DC Studios Head Peter Safran told Variety in 2023 that the character was still on their radar and was someone they would “inevitably… include in our story.”

The fan adding supposed receipts to the thread also noted that script for the Robert Pattinson-starrer The Batman – Part II had been completed in late June 2025.

Although the Matt Reeves-directed Batman world, which includes the HBO Max series The Penguin, currently stands apart from James Gunn’s DC Studios creations that kicked off with Superman in July, it’s to be noted the account that ended up commenting under Lisa’s post is the general DC profile. And so, it features posts promoting both Gunn’s ‘DCU’ and the standalone Batman film and related media.

With Lisa having already waltzed into Hollywood, snagging a potential role in such a popular universe doesn’t seem far-fetched. However, she could also just be in the running for a potential soundtrack consideration. She did, after all, partner up with several international artists, including Doja Cat, Raye, Maroon 5, Future, Megan Thee Stallion, Tyla and others, recently in addition to gracing the Oscars 2025 stage for a James Bond medley alongside her “Born Again” collaborators.
