Aadit Palicha, the Co-Founder and CEO of Zepto, took to social media to address the growing buzz surrounding an unexpected collaboration with Škoda. Headlines had circulated claiming that Zepto would soon be delivering cars in just 10 minutes—an eye-popping concept that grabbed attention across the industry, but Palicha clarified that.

“No, we’re not delivering cars in 10 minutes… yet,” Palicha confirmed, reassuring consumers that despite the excitement, the service won’t be bringing a Škoda Kylaq to your doorstep in a flash. Instead, the company’s new venture centers around something a little more practical—delivering a test drive of the Škoda Kylaq within 10 minutes.

The confusion likely stems from a new Zepto advertisement, where a Zepto executive arrives at a Škoda showroom, only to be led to a Škoda Kushaq wrapped in Zepto branding. The car is then driven off for delivery, sparking speculation that this might be Zepto’s next big leap into the automotive market. While the ad certainly hints at something more, Palicha took the opportunity to set the record straight, noting that while Zepto has made a name for itself in the quick-commerce sector, automobiles are a different beast entirely.

Delivering groceries in minutes is one thing, but the logistics of delivering a car are a whole different challenge. As Palicha pointed out, cars involve financing, insurance, registration, and a mountain of paperwork—practicalities that simply can’t be addressed in a 10-minute delivery window. This new venture is more likely to involve services like test drive bookings, servicing, or the provision of official accessories—perhaps even a faster, more efficient way to schedule these processes.

Still, Palicha remained optimistic about the future, adding a hint of mystery about what’s to come. “Who knows what the future holds?” he said, leaving the door open for potential developments in the auto sector.

Zepto is set to make an official announcement on February 8, and while the details remain unclear, the brand’s reputation for shaking up the status quo in retail has definitely got people talking. Whether cars or something else is in the cards, Zepto is clearly not afraid to think outside the box—just don’t expect to get a full-size car delivered in the next 10 minutes!
