The Wimbledon 2025 quarter finals “got a bit too much” for actor Hugh Grant at the royal box of the Centre Court. Watching Novak Djokovic take on his Italian counterpart, Grant exchanged pleasantries with Queen Camilla, minutes before dozing off in his seat.

The actor, 64, was joined by his wife, Anna, who were all jovial when they enjoyed Wimbledon 2025 in the sunshine at the iconic grass court at the All England Tennis Club. Videos of him sleeping surfaced on the internet, and netizens couldn’t get enough of the visuals.

“Not convinced Hugh Grant is awake,” wrote a user on X, sharing an image from the telecast. A sports-betting page called Hugh’s viral photo “one of the most expensive naps in human history…” while others called it a “700£ nap”.

This followed just minutes after chatting with Queen Camilla and her sister, Anabelle. “Someone back up Hugh Grant, dude is out cold,” wrote a user jokingly on X. Netizens could not get enough of Grant’s nap in the Wimbledon royal box as Novak Djokovic made history on the court.

The telecast also captured Grant’s extroverted nature as the couple, Anna and Hugh, could not contain their smiles and laughter. Wimbledon is often adorned with celebrities. While the internet was taken by storm by Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma’s attendance, in the previous matches were many celebrities like Olivia Rodrigo, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Nick Jonas among others.

Wimbledon 2025 quarter-final

After the “eventful” quarter-final, Novak Djokovic reached his 14th Wimbledon semifinal. Scripting history, he broke Roger Feder’s record with a 6-7 (6), 6-2, 7-5, 6-4 victory over Italy’s Flavio Cobolli.

Awaiting the semis, the former world number one will face current top seed and seven-time Wimbledon winner, Jannik Sinner. However, Djokovic’s record of 20 out of 21 Grand Slam wins, this tour marked his 1050th tour-level win of his career.
