In an interview with Indian Express last year, Ayush shared the story of his early cricket journey: “I got admission to Don Bosco High School in Matunga, and it was my grandfather, Laxmikant Naik (Nana), who took the responsibility of driving me there every day. I used to go for practice in Matunga in the morning, attend school, and then go to Churchgate for another practice session. My family used to worry about the lack of sleep, but now they too see how the sacrifice has paid off.”
Ayush began playing professional cricket at the age of six, but by the time he turned fifteen, he was determined to pursue cricket as a career. Since then, his remarkable stats have made a case for his talent and potential.
