IPL 2023 is without a doubt going to be a bounce-back season for Kolkata Knight Riders. After finishing seventh in the last IPL season, KKR is in a do or die situation. And this situation has been toughened after the team dealt with the blow of missing their captain Shreyas Iyer. Iyer could miss a major part of the tournament due to his back injury. Instead, Nitish Rana has taken over as the stand-in captain. But this doesn’t take away from the fact that Iyer’s absence could be harmful for the KKR squad.
