Varun Chakaravarthy
Varun Chakaravarthy, born on 29 August 1991 in Bidar, Karnataka, has emerged as a mystery spinner famed for his variations and accuracy. He has played his first match for international recognition in T20I against Sri Lanka in July 2021. Although his professional career started quite late, Varun made a mark in the game, especially in T20I with 33 wickets from 18 matches at an extraordinary average of 14.57. His best figures are 5/17, which show his efficiency in tearing apart batting lines. In the year 2025, he made his ODI debut against England and later became a very important part of India’s Champions Trophy victory by taking a total of 10 wickets in four games, among which was a five-wicket haul.
Varun made his entry into the IPL with Kings XI Punjab in 2019, and that was the starting point. However, it was really at KKR in 2020 when it came to light.
