In a historic win at the Dubai International Stadium, India became the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 Champions on March 9. How much money did Pakistan earn as the host of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025?
In a shameful performance by the hosts, Pakistan was ousted from the tournament just after their second match in the group stage. Despite of which they will receive nearly Rs 2.3 crores as a participant and rank eight in the CT 2025. The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced a budget of nearly $70 million for this year’s season in 2024 and as Pakistan hosted in three cities of Rawalpindi, Lahore and Karachi, the host was set to receive $6 million.
This ICC Champions Trophy was seen as a potential event to revive Pakistan’s immersion in international cricket but India’s hesitation to attend was seen as a threat to the same. Dubai as the co-host of the tournament became the destination to all matches with India, raising great speculation towards a bias.
The ICC Men’s Champions Trophy will take place every four years with the world’s top eight ODI teams, with the Women’s Champions Trophy launching in 2027 in a T20 format.
