Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to chair NITI Aayog’s ninth Governing Council meeting on July 27, focusing on the ‘Vikshit Bharat@2047’ document aimed at transforming India into a developed nation, as confirmed by a senior government official on Monday.
The Governing Council, comprising state chief ministers, lieutenant governors of Union Territories, and several Union ministers, serves as the apex body of NITI Aayog, with Modi serving as its Chairman.
Ahead of this crucial meeting, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is expected to provide insights into the ‘Viksit Bharat’ vision and its action plan during the Budget presentation on July 23, setting the stage for comprehensive discussions at the council.
India Aims for USD 30 Trillion Economy by 2047
The ‘Viksit Bharat@2047’ vision document aims to position India as a USD 30 trillion economy by 2047, marking the centenary of its independence. Since 2023, NITI Aayog has been tasked with integrating ten sectoral thematic visions into a unified roadmap for India’s development. This encompassing vision includes fostering economic growth, advancing social progress, ensuring environmental sustainability, and promoting good governance across the nation.
