<b>ITO Metro station to be thrown open on Monday : </b>The much awaited ITO station of Delhi Metro will be thrown open to commuters on Monday, ending months of wait on the single line ITO-Mandi House section. "The ITO-Mandi House section will be opened for commercial operations for the public from 6 pm on Monday. The clearance from the Commissioner for Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) to open the section between ITO –Mandi House has been received," said a DMRC statement. Inspection of the newly constructed Metro section was done by the CMRS on June 2. (PTI) (05/06/2015)

Kejriwal was even more strident in attacking Delhi's Lt Governor Najeeb Jung, calling him as BJP's "polling agent" who had turned his official residence into "BJP headquarters". "Delhi people have voted for us and the rest of the country supported Modi. So please let us run Delhi and you (Modi) run the country. Don't create trouble for us everyday through the LG. <b>Ganga can't be cleaned in 50 years, says BJP's Murali Manohar Joshi: </b>Toeing a line different from his party-led government on ambitious 'Namami Gange' programme, senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Murali Manohar Joshi today said Ganga can't be cleaned even in next 50 years. "Cleaning Ganga would be a far fetched dream till there was an uninterrupted flow of water in the river. The river cannot be cleaned even in next 50 years, they way river was being cleaned by dividing it into small parts, converting it into small ponds," Joshi said, adding that Ganga was our lifeline, and any threat to Ganga was a threat to our culture and tradition. The senior BJP leader questioned Union Minister Nitin Gadkari's Inland waterways project of running cruises and large ships in Ganga river for transportation of heavy goods. <b>Delhi University offline application begins, over 20,000 forms sold on Day 1 : </b>Over 20,000 forms were sold on the first day of the offline application process for admission to Delhi University's undergraduate courses that began today. "A total of 21,813 forms were sold on day one of the offline application process. Maximum forms were sold at SGTB Khalsa college which is the only registration centre in North Campus," Delhi University's spokesperson and Joint Dean of Students' welfare Malay Neerav said. With the varsity deciding to start the online registration process eight days prior to the traditional offline admission process this year, the admission seeker's interest in the paper form filling has decreased. "Last year, the number of forms sold on day 1 was 32,460 and 18 registration centres were set up," Neerav said. Since the start of online registrations process from May 28, the varsity has received 2.3 lakh applications. (PTI) (05/06/2015)

<b>Jammu tense as protestors defy prohibitory orders; cop stabbed: </b>Situation in Jammu was "tense" today as sikh youth defied prohibitory orders and held protests in various areas as part of a three-day old agitation which is spreading and saw one more policeman being stabbed and his AK rifle taken away. Protests were also held in Kashmir besides Poonch, Rajouri and other parts of Jammu region today over the death of a youth in clashes that erupted in Jammu yesterday after hundreds of Sikhs blocked road and pelted stones at cops over removal of posters of Khalistani militant leader Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale. Defying prohibitory orders, sikh youth today took to streets for the third day as protests spread over various areas in Jammu, Kathua, Poonch and Rajouri districts. (PTI) (05/06/2015)
