Union Home Minister Amit Shah has launched a new program aimed at speeding up the immigration process for pre-verified Indian nationals and Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholders. This initiative, named the Fast Track Immigration-Trusted Traveller Programme (FTI-TTP), is designed to streamline the travel experience for these individuals.
How It Works
Eligible travelers need to apply online, submitting their biometrics (fingerprints and facial image) along with other required information. The FTI registration is valid for up to five years or until the passport expires, whichever comes first.
Biometric Submission
Once applications are approved, individuals will receive a message to schedule an appointment for biometric submission. This can be done at designated international airports in India or the nearest Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO). Providing biometrics is essential for completing the application process.
Important Details
Applicants should ensure their passport is valid for at least six months when applying for FTI-TTP. The membership will be tied to the passport’s validity. Providing accurate residential address information is crucial to avoid application rejection.
Eligibility and Verification
The program aims to enhance travel convenience and security. Applications with false information or those unable to capture biometrics due to technical reasons will be rejected. Successful registration requires mobile OTP and email verification to authenticate identity.
